Love that rises.

There is often hesitation when people discuss portraits such as "my Grandma would not like having her photo taken" and often that feeling is more a reflection of the person speaking than the person being spoken of.
Elderly family members are more often than not, proud of their age. It is like a badge of honour, for they know and have no doubt loved many who have not had the same privilege as they to reach that age.
Creating a portrait is a craft, it is seeing who the person is and sharing that with their loved ones in a photo. These images being placed on the walls and in the hearts of family members for generations to come.
Grasping an understanding of the persons life lived and sharing that in portrait takes care, thought and a passion for listening to the pauses and tone of the words spoken.
Sharing what is discovered in a photograph created with a family and then watching the love that rises is my joy.
A Portrait is a forever gift, a legacy that will behold a person for many lifetimes to come.
