When you sit for a Portrait there is a certain hesitation that lingers in the air from the subject. It is a simple cup of tea, listening and time spent that allows people to find their grace.
The time that a portrait takes is in lighting, the seating and the subject preparation. That understanding you gain of who the person really is and what life has been about for them that changes an apprehensive face to a warm one.
Creating a Portrait is a craft, a soul filled love of wanting to be able to share that persons true nature, their innate self, their purpose with the viewer in this era or the next.
It is a passion that thrives upon learning and listening to who the person before was and is and then conveying that without words.
Being a Portrait Photographer for me is a gift, it ignites my purpose and allows me to furrow into the generations of people who will love each of the stories of the subject in the photo. Being a Portrait Photographer is being offered the opportunity to share photo stories of incredible everyday people.
